Another chilly’ish morning. Greg's early morning walk co-incided with the sprinklers coming on in the main street which made for some great photos
After breakfast we took the bikes out for some exercise around Quilpie. Out to the airport first, then to the cemetery. We had spied a gallery on our way to the cemetery, so decided to stop in at that on our way back into town, but it was closed. More wandering found us at St Finbarr’s Catholic Church to see the opal-embedded altar, lectern and font - pretty speccy. It was time for mornos now so we stopped in at the bakery only to find they don’t do decaf coffee so we bought some sustenance then came home to eat them with coffee made from the pod machine.
A quick change of clothes and we were out walking, needed to visit the pharmacy and grocery store. On the way we visited the Quilpie Military Museum which is really just a collection of memorabilia - badges, uniforms, and a few old weapons, but very well displayed.
Back to the van for roast chicken and vegetables for lunch. After an LLD it was back out on the bikes again to look for the Powerhouse Museum; found it but it was closed. Back to the grocery store for more vege before we head further West.
Back home for exercises/stretches, a glass of wine, and a relax before bed.
Gorfeous photos - well done Greg. "The march down quilpies main street" painting was outstanding I think ... the colours, the shadows. just the whole atmosphere of the painting!!
