We did not leave home until just before 9:30am, and our first stop was about 35km down the road in Maryborough to drop off a book to Gregs sister. Our next stop was at a rest stop we had seen a number of times but never needed - just before the Gunalda turnoff, for mornos. This is a rest stop designed for travellers and has a nice set of loos. There were a number of grey nomads in location, but we managed to find a level place to stop and brew-up.
Mornos task completed, it was off to Kingaroy for lunch. We decided McDs was the quickest and best option - a chicken ceasar salad meal each later and we were back on the road. We arrived at the Dalby Tourist Park (we have stayed here twice before on overnighters) about 3pm and Gunther and Yvonne were there to welcome us.
After setting up we went for a short walk along the Myall Creek to stretch the legs. Core strengthening exercises and other stretches were completed before having a 'first-night-on-the-road' drink with G&Y before they retreated to cook dinner.
We are really looking forward to the next 5 weeks on the road with like-minded people.
