Day 13: Sun 23 Aug - Longreach

3 -22 degC

A chilly start to the morning! After breakfast we set off on the bikes to ride the bike path from start to finish. It starts at the entrance sign to Longreach and finishes at Apex Park on the Thomson River. A little tour around town and we were back at the van park with 20km on the clock. Because we had to ride passed the van park on our way from the start of the path, we stopped in for a mornos stop. There are as many vans at Apex Park than are here at the van park, and are just as packed in as here.

Lunch time back at the van, then a little rest, then back out on the bikes to the Arts and Crafts Gallery. It is situated on the second storey of the old QATB building that was built in 1921. It was not a particularly large display.

Home via the Iningai Nature Reserve which was a walk not a ride, so we turned around went home.

Wendy wanted to do the Stockman's Hall of Fame today however, there were no available bookings until 28 August; we are not going to hang around that long just to visit that. So, we will be back, someday, and will do the Air Park of the QANTAS museum and the Stockman's Hall of Fame. There are several other attractions and activities that are not open due to COVID-19, so even more reason to come back.
