After breakfast we set off on the bikes to tour Emerald. We did the Botanic Gardens first (they have not changed since we were here in 2015 with G&Y, although they have recovered from the flood), then to the Art Gallery, which was a lot better than that at Dalby! It has a nice range of art mediums on show. On to the Info Centre again to see if they had a proper tourist map with things to see, and also to see if they had a painted water tower - no they don't. Wendy thought she had seen it as a sight on some map somewhere; she was obviously mistaken. We then visited the Centenary of Federation Mosaic pathway - 100 years in 100 metres. We came home via the Fairbairn Bakery and bought two double decker vanilla slices and came home for mornos.
After a load of washing, lunch preparations began - roast chicken and vege - yummo!
An afternoon rest then a drive to refuel the vehicle and then visit the shops, just because we could. We then went out on foot to the main street of Emerald to see some more street art. Exercises and 'crafting' time preceeded watching the TDF highlights with a glass of wine.
Emerald is a lot more than just a mining town, it has a touch of culture.
